Read:
1. Representat on from the President & General Secretary of the Mulnivasi Bahujana Teachers Sangh, Andhra Pradesh in Letter No.MBTS/18-10/ 2018, dated.16.10.2018.
2. Unified - District Information on School Education (U-DISE)2018- 19.
3. Govt. Memo No.4282/H1/95 Dt.20.12.2995, School Education addressed to all District Collectors.

    A copy of the Government Memo No.4282 /H1 /95, dated:20.12.1995 issued by the Social Welfare Department at Secretariat is herewith enclosed,

    All the Regional Joint Directors of SchoolEducation and all the Distric t Educat onal Officers in the State areinformed that as seen from the U-DISE 2018-19 data cited 2 above, there are 766 Schools in 13 Districts of the State,where the place of the school has been shown as "Harijanawada" . The list of those schoolsis herewith communicated.

• They are requested to remove the word "Harijanawada" in the School Name Board and in any other references relating to the school. Inits place use either Vilage name  or  Manda!  name  instead  of "Har janawada ".

• In the U-DISE 2019-20, the changed name of the school should be
entered after  duly ensuring that  the Name  Board and other material references as instructedin this proceedings are changed.

• The under mentioned Officers are requested to takeimmediate steps for removing the word Harijan"in all the proceedings so far issued by them in r/ o opening of schools, recognition of schools, up grad ation of schools, sanctioning of additional sections etc., in the name boards of the schools, where the word "Harijan" etc., has been quoted as a mention of place, the same may be removed by issuing an Errata and mention as Schedu led Caste area or the place of Mandal or Village.

• The under mentioned Of ficers should not use the  word  "Harijana" etc., in any official matters dealing with academic or administrative certif icates/instructions respectively or any m atter  what  so  ever  by any of ficial in the School Education Department and if necessary the word Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe should be in variably used.

• The Director, SCERT, Andh ra Pradesh, the Director,  Andhra  Pradesh Text Books Press, the Director, RMSA, And hra Pradesh, the SPD(SSA), Andhra   Pradesh,   the   Director  Andhra   Pradesh  Model Schools,   the
Director , An dhra Pradesh Open Schools, the Director of Libraries, all 2
the Principals of DIETs, all the Principals of IASEs, all the Principals of CTEs,  the Principal of  Physical Education  College,  the Principal of R.l.P. E, the Principal of l.P.E, the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institutions Society, the Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram and Kaliki ri, Chittoor district may be requested not to use the word s "Harija n" in Off icial matters  and instead use Scheduled Castes.

    The under mentioned Off icers shall ensu re that these instructions are scrupulously implemented and any violation in this regard would be dealt with severely.
