National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS)
Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high quality education for meritorious SC students in reputed residential schools. Approximately 3,000 seats would be provided in class 9th and 11th funded by the Central Government, as per the scheme guidelines.
The National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS) will be an offline test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for selecting students for admission in Class 9 and 11. There is no fee for the examination.
NETS:
• Date of exam: 18th June 2023
• Entrance examination will be conducted in all States/UTs
• Both in English/Hindi medium.
Eligibility:
• Students belonging to Scheduled Castes, studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year (2022-23)
• Parent’s annual income is up to Rs. 2.5 lacs
Application:
• Willing and eligible SC students may register themselves through online portal https://shreshta.nta.nic.in. which is free of cost.
• Portal would be open from 11 a.m. 03 May to 24th May 2023
Result and admission:
• Result of the exam would be declared on NTA website
• Web counselling for admission would be done.
