ORDER:
In the G.O. 1st read above, Government have not issued orders declaring 24.02.2017 (Friday ) as Holiday on the occasion of Mahasivaratri under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.
2. In the letters 2nd and 3rd read above, the Convenor, United Forum of Bank Unions, AP & Telangana State Units, Hyderabad and the Coordinator, United Forum of Bank Unions, C/o SBI Officers’ Association, Suryaraopet, Vijayawada have requested to declare 24.02.2017 (Friday) as Holiday on the occasion of Mahasivaratri.
3. The Government, after careful consideration of the matter, have decided to declare as Holiday on the occasion of Mahasivaratri on 24.02.2017 (Friday) under the Explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881). Accordingly, the following notification is issued and shall be published in the extra-ordinary Gazette of Andhra Pradesh State:
NOTIFICATION
4. In partial modification of the orders issued in G.O.Rt.No.2413, General Administration (Poll.A) Department, dated:24.11.2016 notifying the Holidays, the Government hereby notify 24.02.2017 (Friday) to be observed as Holiday on the occasion of Mahasivaratri (Friday,) under N.I. Act.
