In pursuance ofthe decision of CabinetCommittee onEconomic Affairs,Ministry   of   Human  Resource  Development   (GoI)  has   transferred   four components of the“Scheme on QualityImprovement inSchools” to NationalCouncil of EducationalResearch and Training(NCERT). “Introductionof Yoga in Schools” isone of thecomponents to beimplemented byNCERT. Yoga has been an integral part ofthe subject “Health andPhysical Education”,which is a compulsorysubject up to thesecondary schoolstage.
