The Regional Join Directors and the District Educational Officers are aware that the National Programme of Mid-Day-Meal in Schools (MDMS) is a flagship programme aiming at enhancing enrolment, retention and attendance and simultaneously improving nutritional levels among children.
For an effective and systematic implementation of the programme, it is proposed to conduct workshops, intended to discuss about the various measures required to be taken and all the protocols and non negotiable relating to maintenance of kitchen and kitchen gardens under MDM in the State.The Proposed schedule of workshops is as follows:
The workshop will be held under the directive of Commissioner of School Education and the Nutrition Experts will provide technical inputs and facilitatlon at the workshop. Field functionaries' opinions are considered to be crucial to the discussions on the organized
implementation of the scheme and the way forward for perfection.
The proposed Participants of the workshop
1.Assistant Director( MDM) and 2 supporting staff.
2. Five (5) Head Masters from each Educational Division (2 from High Schools, 1from Girls High School and 2 from Primary School).
3. SMC members @ 1 from each Educational Division.
Criteria to be adopted in selecton of partcipant HMs for the workshop are as follows:
1. Schools with Compound wall
2. Schools with Kitchen-cum-Storeroom
3. Schools with Water facility.
4. Schools having sufficient ground for developing kitchen gardens
5. Zero Budget Natural Farming(ZBNF) matching villages
The functionaries, who are deputed to attend the workshop, shall come along with relevant information (in both soft and hard copies) on the issues relating to MDM. All the RJDSEs/DEOs are requested to ensure that said personnel attend the proposed workshops without fail. The details of the participants shall be submitted to this office immediately in the format appended to these proceedings (Annexure - I).
Further,the District Educational Officers of Krishna, East Godavari and Kadapa are requested to make necessary arrangements for the accommodation/ transportation of State team of four members with Nutrition Expert and required logistical support for conducting the workshop. While selecting venues for the workshops the following requirements are to be taken into consideration:
l. Meeting Hall,sufficient for participation of 100 members.
2. Required Mike facility for the participants.
3. LCD projector and screen.
4. Sufficient furniture and stationary for all the participants .
5. working lunch and other refreshments
The details of venue shall be informed to all the participants two days before without fail.
