All the District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio/Additional Project Co-ordinators in the State is informed that the Government of Kerala haveintroduced an innovative idea namely viz., “Water Bell” in all the schools to bringawareness among the school going children, the importance of drinking enoughwater. The water bell intervention is that the school rings the bell thrice a day inthe schools to make the students/ teacher to drink water to promote better health.
Further, they are informed that inculcation of drinking adequate andenough water will promote good health, the health experts have already declaredthat the water is elixir of life. Water is most natural hydrative liquid, it regulatesthe temperature, cushions the brain and all the tissuies cells in the body,lubricates joints, cleanse toxins and flushes body waste, promotes healthy skinensures oxygen in the body and helps digestive systems.
In view of the above, it is decided to adopt the “Water Bell” system in allthe Schools in the State (Govt, ZP, Mpl, KGBVs, Model Schools Aided & Un-Aidedalso) to ensure better health of the school going children in the State. The waterbell should be rung on every functioning day i.e., 10.30 AM, 12.00AM & 03.00 PMand also to instruct the students to take the water at home during holidays andvacations also on the schedule times without fail.
Therefore, all the District Educational Officers & Ex Officio / Additional Project Co-ordinators in the State are requested to instruct all the HM of all theSchools in the State (Govt, ZP, Mpl, KGBVs, Model Schools Aided & Un-Aidedalso) to implement the Scheme of “water Bell” compulsorily that “all thestudents/ teachers in the schools get up from their seats and to drunk the water”which was brought the bottles from their home. The inspecting officers shall lookin to this whenever they visit the school.
