You are well aware that the term of the elected Rural Local Bodies In the State of Andhra Pradesh expired by 1.8.2018 for Gram Panchayats, by 3.4.2019 for MPTCs and ZPTCs and similarly by 2.7.2019 for Urban Local Bodies.

2. In this regard, the State had been taking all measures to conduct elections at the earliest by preparation and publication of electoral rolls, identification and publication of poll ng stations etc. further, despite many legal Impediments, the State Election Commission (SEC) with the active cooperation of the State has finally set the stage for conduct of elections for the Local Bodies in the month of March, 2020.

3. Accordingly, the SEC has issued the Election Schedule for the local bodies on 7.3.2020 with a clear intention to complete  the entire process of elections by the end of March, 2020. As per the Election Notification, the District  Election Authorities & District Collectors have geared up their entire field machinery to conduct elections by taking up various activities such as training and positioning their returning officers, receipt of nominations, apart from identifying and training poll personnel. further, they have also completed procurement of ballot boxes and taken all such action as necessary for printing of ballot papers.
