Govcmment in its Memo I st read above have accorded permission to the Comm issioner of School Education to procure the Eggs(hen) and supply Lo lhe students under Mid -Day Meal Scheme. Accordingly, a lender had been floated and work was allotted to the :;elected the selected t hree bidders as
per Government memo 2nd read above. The cost of one egg payable is Rs.4.68 ps including all charges
Government in its Memo 5th read above have accorded permission to the Commissioner of School Education to extend the tenure penod for supply of Eggs to the existing firms from July-2018 till the completion of the tender process or three months whichever is earlier. Accordingly, tl1 supply orders were issued to the Egg supplying agencies. On expiry of the 3 months period (on 31.10.2018) as instructed in Govt. memo cited, and after discussing with the SP. Clucf Sec.vidc proceedings 5th read above , the supply of eggs to the MOM served in schools was cntrUsted to the Cooking Agen cies or NGOs/ Centralised Kitchens as the case may be same. the Cooking Agencies have expressed inability to provide eggs to the children in view of high cost and non-availabilily of advance funds to meel such expenditure. Further, the cooking agencies who are NGOS have requested to permit them to purchase and supply the eggs by themselves so as lo avoid, spoiling of bulk eggs being su pplied to them by the egg suppliers
In view of the above circumstances and keeping in view t he welfare of the children, the C-0mm issioncr of School Education is pleased to extend the tenure of the existing bidders for a period of three months or finalisation of
tender, whichever is earlier, for supply of eggs to the school point l.lnder Mid Day Meal scheme with immediate effect.
The supply agencies are also hereby instructed not to supply 1n bulk eggs to the NGO Cooking agencies, as separate orders are being issued, permitting such agencies to directly procure, cook and serve eggs in MDM to the schools allotted to them.
The District Educational Officers are requested to lake necessary measures for supply of five eggs per week to the children by the existing Agencies as per norms and note that the NGO Cooking agencies Are permitted to directly procure eggs and provide in MDM..
