FINANCE (TA)  DEPARTMENT G.O.Ms.No.208      Dated:  28  -07-2008         R ea d t hef ol lo wi :- ng s 1)  G.O.Ms.No.262, Fin.  &  Plg.(FW:TA) Deptt., dated:25-08-1980. 2)  The  Persons  with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995, Ministry  of  Law, Justice and Company  Affairs, Government of  India, Act No.1  of 1996 * * * O R  D E R: In  the G.O.  read above,  Government prescribed  certain  conditions for grant of Conveyance  Allowance to  Orthopaedically  handicapped employees working  in the  State  Government. 2. In  the reference 2nd  read above,  Government  of  India  have  defined disability  under Section 2(t) of the Government of  India Act No.1 of 1996, for the purpose of  grant of Conveyance  Allowance to the Orthopaedically  handicapped employees.   As per  the  Government of  India Act  “Person with disability”  means a person suffering  from not less than  forty  percent  of  any  disability  as  certified by  a medical authority. 3. Accordingly,  the  following  amendment to para-3(i)  of  the  G.O.1st  read above is issued. AMENDMENT FOR READ AS  handicapped employee  will be  eligible  for Conveyance  Allowance  only,  if he  has a  minimum  of  40%  permanent partial disability  of  both the  upper  and lower extremity  deformities. An orthopaedically An Orthopaedically  challenged employee  will be  eligible for conveyance  allowance,  only  if he  has not less than  40%  locomotor  disability of bones, joints or muscles leading  to substantial restrictions of  the movement of  the  limbs’  as  certified  by  the  Medical Board.
