       All  the  Project  Officers  of  RVM  (SSA)  in  the  state  are  informed  that  it  is decided  to  implement  a  quality  initiative  at  upper  primary  level  under  the  title “QuEST”  jointly  by  Tribal  Welfare  Department  and  Rajiv  Vidya  Mission  to improve  the  achievement  levels  among  the  children  of  STs  studying  in  classes-VI to  VIII  in  the  schools  run  by  Tribal  Welfare  Department  in  the  state.  Accordingly,  the  Commissioner,  Tribal  Welfare  Department  vide  reference  cited, has  requested  to  issue  necessary  orders  to  the  Project  Officers  of  Rajiv  Vidya Mission  for  printing  and  supply  of  teachers  handbooks  and  workbooks  for  the children  of  classes  VI  to  VIII  to  implement  the  programme.

Hence,  the  Project  Officers  are  requested  to  get  the  material  printed  at district  level  through  tender  process  as  shown  below  

 (i)    Since  the  quantity  of  teacher  handbooks  required  is  small,  the  Project Officers  of  Kurnool,  Warangal  and  Hyderabad  shall  get  the  material printed  and  supplied  to  all  districts  as  per  annexure  I.    The  required funds  shall  be  reimbursed  by  the  districts  after  receipt  of  the  material.

(ii)     The  workbooks  for  children  in  the  districts  of  Srikakulam,  Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam,  East  Godavari,  West  Godavari,  Khammam,  Warangal, Adilabad,  Mahabubnagar  and  Nalgonda  shall  be  got  printed  by  the concerned  Project  Officers  at  the  district  level  as  shown  in  annexure  -  II.  

 (iii)  As  the  no.of  workbooks  to  the  children  required  is  very  less  in  the remaining  districts  except  the  districts  shown  under  item  (ii),  it  isdecided to get them printed in 4 identified districts viz., Visakhapatnam, Kurnool, Warangal and Hyderabad and supply to other districts.  Hence, the Project Officers concerned are requested to get the workbooks printed and supply to other districts as shown in annexure – III

The specifications and soft copy will be sent by the Tribal welfare Deaprtment.

     Further, the Project Officers are requested to meet the budget towards teacher handbooks and workbooks for children from the provision made under teacher training and LEP respectively under SSA for the year 2012-13.  Further they are requested to complete the process of printing of material and handover to the concerned officers of Tribal Welfare Department at district level by 10.08.2012 without fail.
