G.O.Ms.No. 69, Dated:28.04.2011. Training period of employees – Reckoning the period as qualifying service for the purpose of pension

ORDER:

        In  the Government  Order  4th   read  above,  orders  were  issued  that in respect  of  the  employees  who  retired/  retire  on  or  after 1.7.2008, the training  period  of  the  employees  for  whom  training  or  apprenticeship  is  a pre-requisite  shall  be  reckoned  as  qualifying  service  for  purpose  of pensionary  benefits  irrespective  of the  fact  whether  he/  she  was  paid salary  or  stipend for  the  period  of  training/  apprenticeship, if  any, if  such period  of training/ apprenticeship  is  a   pre- requisite for  appointment  .

2. In  the  letter  5th  read above, Sri  Pochim  Reddy Subba Reddy  MLC has  stated  that  the  orders  issued  in  G.O.Ms.No.178, Finance  (Pen.I) Department,  dated  17-05-2010 come into  force  with  effective  from  1-72008,  resulting  those  who  joined  apprenticeship  service  will  only  get pension, but the legal heirs  of  deceased employees  are  not eligible to  get pension. Hence,  he  has  requested to  issue  an  amendment to  the said orders  to  make  it  applicable  to  the legal heirs  of  those  who  joined  prior  to 1-7-2008 as apprenticeship teachers  and expired while in  service  to  get family  pension.

3. Government, after  careful  consideration  of  the  matter,  have decided to  extend   the  benefit of treating the  training/  apprenticeship period  for pension purpose  to all the  employees who   retired or  retire from  service  as  on or  after    1-7-2008  and  as  well  as  in  respect of employees who died  prior  to 1-7-2008.

5.  Accordingly,  the  following  notification  will  be  published  in  an Extraordinary issue  of the  Andhra  Pradesh Gazettee  dated 28.04.2011.
NOTIFICATION

 In  exercise  of  the powers  conferred by  the  proviso  to  Article  309 of the  Constitution  of  India and  of  all  the  powers  hereunto  enabling  the Governor  of  Andhra  Pradesh  hereby  makes  the  following  amendment to the Andhra  Pradesh  Revised  Pension  Rules,  1980  issued  in  G.O.(P) No.88 Finance  &  Planning (Fw.Pen.I)  Department  dated  26.03.1980,  as subsequently  amended from  time  to  time.

AMENDMENT

 In  the proviso  to  rule  16  of  the  said rules, the  expression   “In  respect  of  employees who  retired/retire  on  or after 1-7-2008”  shall be  omitted.
