ORDER:
 In the reference read above, the State Project Director, SSA, A.P.
Amaravati has stated that after providing infrastructure facilities like Class Rooms, Kitchen Sheds, Toilets and Compound walls to the Primary and Upper Primary Schools, they are being left without maintenance due to paucity of funds and life span of the school buildings is decreased which results in more capital
expenditure in future on construction of new buildings. Further, there is no Central Assistance is being released for the maintenance and repair work to the School buildings. The maintenance and taking up minor repairs to the existing
school buildings will increase the life span of the school buildings. The Chief Engineer, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,Amaravati has prepared estimates to take up repairs and paintings to “Upper Primary Schools" in the entire state of Andhra
Pradesh. Hence, the State Project Director, SSA, A.P. has requested to issue necessary administrative sanction to take up repairs and paintings to Upper Primary Schools with an estimated amount of Rs.347.40 Crores (Rupees Three
Hundred Forty Seven Crores and Forty Lakhs only) by calling tenders on e-procurement platform.

2. In the circumstances reported by the State Project Director, SSA, A.P. in the reference read above, after careful examination of the matter, Government hereby accord administrative approval to take up maintenance, repairs and paintings to “Upper Primary Schools” in the entire State of Andhra Pradesh with an estimated cost of Rs.347.40 Crores (Rupees Three Hundred Forty Seven Crores and Forty Lakhs only) approximately by calling tenders on e-procurement platform, before reopening of schools. The Commissioner of School Education, A.P. Amaravati and the State Project Director, SSA, A.P. Amaravati shall identify the actual amount required to take up the works within the budget available or from savings. Work orders and agreement shall be done only after further orders
of the Government.

3. The Commissioner of School Education, A.P. Amaravati and the State Project Director, SSA, A.P. Amaravati shall take further necessary action in the matter.
